sure you guys have heard of the recent meme movie hitting theaters this year, the minecraft movie. I think everyone knows that its a terrible movie. There’s really nothing funny to it at all, the entire production IS the joke. However, it's the biggest box office hit of 2025 (and on track to make a billion dollars) thanks to its “Meme potential. In fact of the only money grossing movies post pandemic (non chinese), all the “Meme movies” (minecraft/super mario/sonic 2/3/Barbie? I guess you could consider it one/Minions) make up like 2/3rds of those. I guess this is the only thing keeping theaters in business? At least until the next spiderman series drops. Certainly something that gives me conniptions. We already rate movies as exclusively tied to box office performance now, so now what happens when movies are exclusively tied to comedic productions? It seems like a weird development.

The canadian menace has finally been ousted, as Trudeau resigned similar to biden, facing an election he wouldn’t win as his polls nosedived, and his party decided to oust him. Similarly to biden, they replaced him with an even worse candidate. Where it ends is that Mark Carney is the favorite to win the election. He has the immigration policy of 20 bidens. Canadas demographics are kinda fucked, as they like fudging the numbers to make looking up raw racial data impossible to find. A true fact is that Canadas population (40 million ish) grew 16% from 2014-2024. Think about that for a second. That's unheard of. Nevermind the fact that 15% of canadas current population (another rough estimate) have arrived in Canada since the pandemic. Its unheard of man. No country on earth has had it this rough in regards to mass immigration. And its not even contextual or anything. The american southwest might have a lot of mexican immigrants because thats about where mexicans used to live before the Mexican American war, and mexicos a shithole so they flee to the closest country, and because there wasn’t a strict border policy for the better part of Americas lifespan (even up to the first trump administration). There might be a lot of Algerian immigrants in France because of the whole situation there. Canada is not getting mexicans, or algerians. They’re getting exclusively south asians or chinese people. The american midwest is starting to get a lot of indian/south asian immigrants that are actually coming south from Canada.

Now heres where Carney fits in. Carney is the most pro immigration politician I have seen in my life. His main political ideas are about climate / trade (which I imagine is just being staunchly against trump), but when he talks about immigration he says Canada has a problem. He says Canada has too many student visas. You agree with him, 1,040,985 (https://x.com/globepolitics/status/1748527533182836993) international students sounds like a lot, especially as they make up 70% of Canadian university students. He says we need to find a pathway to transition these students into permanent citizenship for canada. ???? It might be over for Canada. Atleast europes demographics are still very much fine for them. The stock market has been in the news recently obviously, as people are using it as a benchmark for grading Trumps second term kind of (ignore sample picture). I want to remind my readers not to judge the stock market as an indicator of anything ever. You can inflate and deflate the stock market easily as the President by simply announcing a budget. Biden did this many times, announcing huge government spending (Trump did also in 2020 as pandemic relief), inflating the DOW/SNP/NASDAQ etc etc many times. This doesn’t mean a damn thing for anyones current life, unless you have money in the stock market (I do for one.)
